Weekly Review 17/10/2025

Second time lucky with this, as most of the initial write up was lost during an update (teething problems). But I’m committed to getting the Weekly Review back on the go to coincide with the launch of the new website, so here we go…

SUNDAY

The Sunday top division has had it’s struggles this season, but it looks like things are heading 6 Offenders way again. They spread the goals around this week as all 7 outfield players notched in a 10-4 win over Shaw Heath Bees 6’s, with Ronny Pepe claiming three, and Adam Knight matching him in response for the Bees. Two goals from the man simply known as James (surname please) helped The Veterans to a 4-2 win over Not Sure Yet, and that win puts them in pole position to finish second.

Cockwombles rounded off their Championship winning season with an 11-4 win over Ready Toulouse, with Sean Hurley and Alex Jones grabbing 4 apiece, while a hat trick from Chris Murray helped Royal Maildrid secure second spot with a 7-2 win over Manfredini FC. Bandit Ballers seem to have settled on their squad in the past couple of weeks, and they now look at home at Championship level. Three from Kaniel Warke helped them pick up a point from a 4-4 draw with Inter MiVan this week

It's a 4 way fight for the title in League One, and Requis now lead the way after an impressive 6-2 win over fellow title contenders Dads Army, with Aaron Cook claiming half of their 6 goal haul. Athletico Pathetico sit in 4th place, 6 points behind the leaders but with games in hand, and they just about maintained their title prospects as they held off a spirited fight back from SHBNextGen to pick up a 3-2 win.

There’s three teams fighting it out in League Two, and Not Quite Carling took a decisive step towards the title with an impressive 8-1 win over Day Release, who sit third. Andy Jones scored three while there was two each for Jake Wright and Dom Martin. Doner Kebab remain second but are now two points off the top after they were held to a 3-3 draw by struggling Cale Green Canaries. Inter Your Sister and Rusty Spoons are in no mans land as the end of the season approaches, and Spoons nicked this one 2-1 to keep themselves from dropping to the foot of the table.

MONDAY

The recently streamlined Monday league looks to be heading Dustbusters FC’s way, and a 17-5 romp over Out On Bale this week helped them open up a 9 point lead at the top. Sam Harries scored 6 and Finn Magoo 5 in a one sided game. Anne Frankfurt lost ground at the top as they threw away a 4-1 lead against Real Madri to lose 5-4. Rob Swallow scored three for Madri but it was Frankfurt ‘keeper Dan Blackburn who picked up the MOTM award. The Albion pulled clear of MK Dongs in third place by beating them 3-1, and in doing so drew level on points with Frankfurt. Maradona Kebab couldn’t buy a win until they ended that unwanted record last week, but they made it back to back wins by seeing off Albert Reet 9-3 this week, Jamie Bower and Logan Gamble grabbing three each

TUESDAY

We’ve recently changed the format of the Reddish Tuesday league to match up with that of the Woodley league, and it seems to be working for now! Maybe not so much for Ctrl+Alt+Defeat, who were hammered 13-0 by early leaders OFT FC, Jake Whittaker helping himself to 4 of their goals. Two4Sixty joined OFT on maximum points from two games after a 5-1 win over Rusholme Ruffians, with Chris Kilpatrick notching a hat trick. Squadron Hotspur were good enough to play two games this week, but they might have some regrets as they lost both games by a solitary goal. Frankies Angels beat them 2-1 to join the 6 pointers at the top, and OA FC beat them 5-4, despite Jake Lowes hat trick.

SPACES AVAILABLE FOR NEW TEAMS IN THE REDDISH TUESDAY LEAGUE – GET IN TOUCH FOR DETAILS

We’re approaching the end of the current Woodley Tuesday season, and there were significant developments at the top of the Premiership this week. Reigning champions Chrimbo Slice took a huge stride towards defending their title as they beat nearest challengers IT Can 3-1, with Lee Simmons claiming two. Until recently, Tuesday league debutants Unathletico Madrid were in the title running, but their slim hopes were ended in spectacular fashion this week as Spirit Of the Boos beat the 5 men 12-2, Latham Whitehead and Ben Fitzgerald both claiming hat tricks. Scott’s Tots and Pow Pow Kenny played out an entertaining 5-5 draw, Scott’s spreading the goals around, while Dan Cox and Toby Sinclair grabbed two each for PPK.

In the Championship, Zooted & Booted all but claimed the title without kicking a ball, as James Hyde FC were beaten 7-3 by Digi FC with Sam Spencer top scoring with three. Netsix & Chill sit in 5th place, but can’t be mathematically ruled out of the fight for second place, and 5 goals for Mugo Ndene in a 6-0 win over DB FC (still waiting for a proper team name…) sees them sitting 9 points behind James Hyde with three games in hand.

THURSDAY

In the Reddish Vale section of the Thursday league, Dustbusters FC and Reddish 6ixes played out the second entertaining draw between the two teams in recent weeks. It took a very late leveller to give Dustbusters the point in a 4-4 draw that keeps them comfortably in control of the title race as we approach the final few games. Charlie Behan claimed three for 6ixes, with Sam Harries claiming two for the league leaders to see him go clear as the top scorer in the division for this season. Man Sniffy could have claimed to be in title contention heading into the final few weeks, but a 6-2 defeat to Unathletico Madrid last night all but ended their chances, with Daniel Forrester’s 4 goals the difference.

In the Woodley Premiership, which now also plays at Reddish Vale (we’ll change that next season) saw leaders Club Tropicana snatch a last gasp winner in a 4-3 victory over Atletico, Ben Cochran with two goals. Three goals each from Dom Breed and Niall Dolan helped Who’s Your Daddy? to a comfortable 8-3 win over Syluf Gudjursson to stay three points off the top with a game in hand.

Old Boys FC were beaten for the first time this season, as BBB made it back to back 6-4 wins, with Archie Wilson notching half of their goals. Village Idiots scored late to deny Strikeforce their first win of the season, but at least they picked up their first point in a 5-5 draw. Mike Pinder claimed a hat trick for Strikeforce, which was matched by Sam Casey for the Idiots.

Rife Raiders and City on Tour will probably become more familiar when the Reddish and Woodley leagues merge for next season, but for now they played out and entertaining 7-5 win for Rife this week, James Walton with 4 of their goals.
