Recap
These are two teams who are very well known to each other, but while Stockport Eagles only picked up their first points of the campaign last week, Pathetico have been going great guns and were unbeaten going into this one.
Michael Winn opened the scoring for the Eagles on 4 minutes, but the were only able to hold onto that lead for 6 minutes before James Norton pulled Pathetico back level. The only other goal of the opening half was scored by Shaun Mather as the Eagles soared into the half time break with a 2-1 lead.
The first 12 minutes of the second half were decisive as the Eagles scored 4 times without reply to open up a 6-1 lead. Alex Patterson and Paul Waugh scored inside the first three minutes before Winn looked to have ended the contest with two goals in three minutes half way through the period. Pathetico did pull another couple back with quick goals from Carl Reynolds and Adam Norton, but Mather’s second of the game with 6 minutes left ended any thoughts of a comeback, meaning Reynolds second of the game in the final few minutes was just a consolation.
