Recap
Having got off to a winning start on their return to the Premeriship last week, Phantom were looking to make it two wins from two against a Duno team who’d suffered a fairly heavy loss to Old Reddish on their Monday league debut last week.
It was the more experienced team who got off to the better start, Paul Wilkinson and Robin Hulme scored in the opening 10 minutes to give them the early advantage. Matt Barton’s goal on 17 minutes looked to have put Phantom in comfortable control, but a Kyle Clarke goal a minute before the break gave Duno a glimmer of hope going into the second period.
That glimmer ignited two minutes after the restart as Calvin Alexander grabbed their second to make it 3-2, but vitally Phantom then scored two in 4 minutes themselves to ease themselves three clear again, Barton with his second and Andrew Shaw the other. Shaw grabbed his second 6 minutes from time to finish off the scoring and give Phantom their second win and a promising start to life back in the top division.
