Recap
Intriguing looking game this one, as Kipsta looked to bounce back from their first defeat of the season last week against an Exeter Gently team who are more than capable of giving decent teams a game with their full team.
It didn’t look like it was going to be too tough this week when Jack Horgan, Matt Toft and Matthew Sheehan scored in 4 first half minutes to put them three up half way through the period. Exeter hit back through two in a minute themselves as Mike Belshaw and and own goal reduced the deficit to two 9 minutes before half time. That 9 minutes was enough for Kipsta to add three more goals to give them a comfortable half time lead, Bobby Hirst, James Birchall and Horgan with the goals.
When Sheehan added his second of the game 8 minutes into the half it looked like job done for Kipsta as they look set for a return to the top flight, but a burst of 4 goals in 8 minutes half way through the period meant it was going to be a long last 8 minutes for the leaders. Alex Brady got the first of them 15 minutes from time, which at the time looked like being a consolation, but when Maison Owen got two and Belshaw his second it was game on again. That was the end of the scoring as Kipsta saw the game out, and they stay two points clear at the top.
