Recap
Having proclaimed that if I was a betting man I’d be putting my money on an AOTS victory this week against struggling Deportivo, we would soon find out if I don’t actually know what I am talking about…..
Having picked up their first win of the season last week, Deportivo got off the mark in the first minute here as Brad Peet put them in front. FC AOTS turned it in their favour before we’d reached the 10 minute mark as Adam Duty scored twice, and they were two up when Charlie Hutchinson scored on 14 minutes. Rob Parker pulled one back for Deportivo two minutes later, and we went into the break all square when Rhys Moult got on the score sheet a minute before the half time whistle.
The game turned back in Deportivo’s favour when Peet and Parker scored within three minutes of each other early in the second period, and it looked like this was going to be the decisive moment of the game as we edged towards the full time whistle with the score at 5-3. When Duty got his third two minutes from time we looked set for a big finish, but Deportivo held on for a second straight win to leapfrog AOTS and go into third place. Who’s struggling……?
