Recap
Two teams who seem to have little to play for other than Premiership survival went up against each other, both looking to bounce back from heavy defeats to the top two last week.
After a tight opening 10 minutes it looked like being another fruitless night for Step Brothers as goals from Matty Aked, Fidelis Eberegbe, Nathaniel Odysseus-Kingsley and Michael Jennison gave Caliente a 4 goal half time lead.
Step Brothers needed to be the first on the score sheet in the second half, and they were as Josh Armitage tapped home from a couple of yards three minutes after the interval, and despite creating chances it was Ryan McAndrew who looked to have sealed the win for Caliente half way through the period. Armitage got his second with 9 minutes remaining but it looked unlikely to make any difference to the full time result. When he got his third two minutes from time, and Tom Cioffi also got on the score sheet a minute later, there was an outside chance they might have nicked something from this, but Caliente held on for the win that actually puts them level on points with Insole in third place. They couldn’t possibly put up a title fight in the last few weeks could they……?
