LEAGUE NEWS
Our Sunday and Tuesday leagues are heading into their final stages, with new leagues set to start in November.
We currently have one space to fill in our Tuesday league, which starts on 21st November, and we’re always on the look out for new teams for the one night where we can still continue to add extra divisions to! So for more information get in touch by filling in an enquiry on the home page.
SUNDAY LEAGUE
Two very different games in the top division this week, as Insole were made to work hard for a 5-2 win over an El Caliente side featuring a couple of ex Mid Life Crisis players, while Kinky Slipper picked up a more than comfortable 18-0 win over a Step Brothers team who are just waiting for the season to end.
Kipsta Cobras continue their march towards the Premiership with a hard fought 6-2 win over a Dench team who were an improvement on recent performances, but they are now looking at survival being the main aim. Even sitting second from bottom, they are only three points off second placed El Caliente B, who were beaten 6-3 by The Veterans, who themselves are now only a point off the second promotion spot. Team Tom climbed out of the relegation spots and are also now just two points off second place after a 5-4 win over the recently improved Exeter Gently, who sit bottom, but could could sit second if they win their games in hand! What a great division!
Strange week in League One, where not a single league game was played for various reasons!
The McMuffin Men had to work hard to maintain their 5 point lead at the top of the League Two table as they scrambled to a 9-8 win over Stockport Eagles, while SK Dons remain second after a 10-7 win over new team Team GM (presumably to be renamed) that was more comfortable than the scoreline suggests.
The new Sunday league kicks off on 19th November. Get in touch for details.
MONDAY LEAGUE
The Monday league really needs a settled top division this season after the last campaign was affected by a couple of early drop outs, and it got off to a good start this week with three games played. Old Reddish came back from going behind early to pick up a 9-1 win over new boys Duno, while Phantom Brazilians made their return to the top flight with a 13-6 win over Strikeforce. The game of the night though, saw champions AC Milmanchester come back from 3-0 down at half time to win 5-3 over the renamed Expected Toulouse (formerly Petr Cech Yourself).
Just one game in the Championship this week, and it saw the new boys Ji Sung Park The Bus get off to a shaky start as they were beaten 11-0 by Pathetico Madrid. Hopefully as they settle in they will improve, otherwise it’s going to be a looooong season for them!
The new Monday league only kicked off this week, but there is a space in the Championship for any teams looking for an immediate start.
TUESDAY LEAGUE
In a week affected by Champions League games, only one Premiership game survived. It was a good one though, as J Stands Barmy Army got back to winning ways after a couple of defeats by beating Cheadle FC 8-6 to reduce the gap to leaders Mirror Signal Malouda back to three points as we approach the final few weeks.
A couple of games went ahead in the Championship, with Only Kruls & Horses maintaining their 100% start to Ballers life with a 7-5 win over Inter Row Z in their toughest test yet. In the other game, LQ FC produced a great comeback to turn a 6-2 deficit against 2 Goals 1 Schlupp into a 10-7 win with a flurry of late goals. 2 Goals can’t buy a win at the minute…….
The new Tuesday league kicks off on 21st November, there is currently a space for any teams wanting to sign up for the new league
WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
Despite United playing this week, there was another 100% turnout for the Wednesday league, and Magpie FC won the big game at the top of the table, beating rivals Polish Army 5-2. Ruud van Ni-Ste-Lloyd needed a last gasp leveller to nick a 6-6 draw with Shaka and maintain their unbeaten record since joining late, while Stockport Eagles made it two straight wins with a 7-2 victory over an Exeter Gently team who are still looking for their first point.
No sign of any spaces coming up in the near future in the Wednesday league, so you best look elsewhere for spaces for now…….
