Recap
Inter Your Sister were sporting some sharp looking new shirts for their opening game in the bottom tier after what has been a dramatic fall from the top division in consecutive seasons. Maybe the new shirts will bring about a change in fortune, but would that start with an opening night win over Stockport Eagles, who might fancy themselves for a promotion push this season?
4 first half goals were crammed into 10 minutes in the middle of the period, with Ryan McAndrew’s 11th minute opener being wiped out by Matt Kealy’s leveller a minute later. Michael Winn quickly restored the Eagles lead, and it was 3-1 at the break when Alecs Patterson scored 5 minutes from the interval.
Inter needed a quck start to the second half and they got it through Gaz Sumner’s goal two minutes after the break, but that was quickly followed by a couple more Winn goals to ease the Eagles three goals ahead. Sumner grabbed a second and Simon Steel also got a goal to bring it back to 5-4 again with 14 minutes still to play, but Winn and McAndrew grabbed a couple of quick goals to end the Inter resistance as the Eagles soar to a first win of the season. At least Inter have nice shirts…..
