Something has crept up on us today, it’s the second anniversary of the first EVER night of Ballers games!
To celebrate, this is the quickest ever thrown together Ballers Blog to once again thank EVERYONE who’s been involved over these first two years. There’s plenty of stats out there in black and white to show how many new companies fail in their first couple of years, but we’re still standing! To those of you who were there at the start, regardless of whether you’re still with us, we wouldn’t be here without out you and the foundations you helped us put in place. If you were here at the start and are still with us, the level of appreciation is multiplied infinitely and hopefully we’ll come up with a suitable way to reward you! If you found us a little later down the line, at least you found us, and we thank you for it, and if you aren’t currently playing, hopefully we’ll see you back with us one day……
Heading into year 3 we are looking at our options for expansion, starting with the opportunity to get a 5-a-side league going at Cheadle Town FC on a Thursday evening (starting very soon!), and we’re looking forward to seeing where the partnership between the two of us can lead.
One thing that we are going to change, at least in the short term, is that we are going to do away with the weekly round up and replace it with a full monthly review. To sweeten the deal we will be throwing a little extra into these, including a review of the action from each division per month, a ‘Good Month / Bad Month’ section for each division, an overall Performance Of The Month, Player Of The Month and Team Of The Month (with photos!), and whatever else we can think of to cram in there. The aim is to have the monthly review and a monthly blog so there will still be fairly regular relevant content going onto the website. Unfortunately the weekly round up was just taking up a little too much time, and while we want to keep giving you guys what you want (if you ever read anything on here), we also want to be spending time on other things to try and improve the overall customer experience. Isn’t the phrase ‘overall customer experience’ horrifically cheesy……
The one other thing we were planning on throwing into a blog was the changing face of small sided football, but we’ll touch on that next month!
Unfortunately we aren’t going to be celebrating with a bumper Tuesday league night, thanks to United and City in the Champions League, but there’s always tomorrow…….
