Team Tom haven’t had a particularly good run of things lately. A random succession of teams were unable to field sides against them towards the end of last season, and now their Championship campaign hasn’t exactly got off to the best of starts. They faced a tough game this week against Kipsta Cobras, who are looking for a return ticket to the top flight after having to rebuild their squad for the new season.

They’ve done that pretty well so far, and from the time Josh Schofield gave them the lead on 10 minutes they barely looked back. Jack Horgan made it 20- three minutes later, and by the time the break came it was 4-0 as Warren Yeo grabbed a brace as the half time whistle loomed.

With the game seemingly won in the opening half, Kipsta went about killing the game off entirely, and two goals from Schofield, and another each from Yeo and Horgan did just that. Team Tom did get on the score sheet through the most unlikely of marksmen, their ‘keeper Blake Reynolds (we’re not sure how, but it happened) with 10 minutes left to play, but in those 10 minutes Kipsta scored 5 more to finish the game with a flourish. Kieron Doherty got himself on the sheet, Horgan and Yeo added to their tally, and Callum Jones and Matt Toft scored the final two to give them a comfortable win.
