2 Goals 1 Schlupp vs LQ FC

Recap

Two teams who will probably be frustrated by recent results went head to head with promotion chances dwindling. 2 Goals started the season really well, but were now on a losing streak, while a recent improvement on performances from LQ ended with a defeat to INter Row Z last week.

After Khaled Ukash gave LQ the lead on two minutes, the rest of the first half mainly belonged to 2 Goals. Lewis Bush drew them level on 7 minutes, and despite Daniel Atherden restoring the LQ lead on 11, further goals from Bush on 14, 19 and 22, as well as a Gabe Stamp strike on 17, saw 2 Goals into the break with a 5-2 lead.

That became 6-2 three minutes after the break as Stamp got his second and it looked like game over as we headed into the final 15 minutes. Matthew Brierley pulled one back for LQ, and when Alex Brash scored another for them with 11 minutes remaining there was two goals in it going into the final stages. Brierley and Sam Holland got two in a minute and out of nowhere LQ were level, but only for a minute before Bush scored his 5th of the game to restore the 2 Goals lead with 7 left to play. In a frantic final 5 minutes there were 4 more goals, all to LQ as goals from Holland, Ukash and two from Atherden gave them an unlikely comeback win. 2 Goals will wonder what happened in those final 15, but they now slip to second from bottom.
