Recap
Even before this week’s game it was obvious that these two sides would be in different divisions next season, as Duno’s continued improvement looks set to make them a top division side next time around. Deportivo had improved their form recently though, but this was a big ask for them this week.
And so it turned out as Roberto (just Roberto) gave Duno the lead with just two minutes on the clock. Further goals from Jack Cope and two from Calvin Alexander made it 4-0 after 12 minutes and if you’d have offered Deportivo an out at that point they might have taken it. They stuck at it though, and Ash Ellwood pulled one back 4 minutes before the break. In those 4 minutes Duno were able to restore their 4 goal lead as Liam Watson scored a minute before the half time whistle.
Duno eased through the gears in the second half to take this one well away from Deportivo, Luke Cope scored in the opening minute, Jack Cope in the 5th, and then Watson grabbed 4 more, meaning Alex Findlow’s late Deportivo goal was just a consolation. It wasn’t the last goal though, as Alexander made it 12-2 in the last minute to keep Duno’s recent great run going.
