Recap
Duno look to have stumbled onto a winning formula in recent weeks, and now look good for promotion not only out of this division, but maybe straight into the top flight if they keep this up. This week they faced a Wellspring side who are still settling down to life without a few regulars who transferred to university.
From the very early stages it was pretty obvious this was going to be a one sided affair as a goal from Liam Stephenson, three from Calvin Alexander and another from Levi Hamilton made it 5-0 after just 7 minutes. Luke Cope made it 6 on 13 minutes, Hamilton added two more in the following two minutes, before Lewis Arden got Wellspring on the score sheet 9 minutes before half time. Stephenson and Cope were able to add two more goals to the Duno tally before the break, and they lead 10-1 when the half time whistle went.
They eased off a little in the second period, and it was 7 minutes in before Liam Stephenson got their next goal. Nathan Wilkinson got Wellspring’s second with 16 minutes remaining, but in those 16 minutes Duno scored another 4 as Alexander and Hamilton got their 4th goals of the game, and Stephenson his 4th and 5th to complete a comfortable win for Duno on a miserable night for Wellspring. There’s always next week……
