Recap
This one looked like being a tricky game to call as The McMuffin Men, who’d lost out in the top of the table clash last week to Pathetico Madrid, took on an FC Stront Bakken team who are looking to prove a point this season after being dropped two divisions following a disastrous season in the Championship.
Two goals in the opening 10 minutes, one from Charley Eyre and the other from Abz Ahmed, gave the McMuffin’s the early advantage, but Stront Bakken hit back to draw level heading into the final 5 minutes of the period as Patrick Mitchell and Declan Matthews grabbed a goal each. Jack Searle restored the McMuffin’s lead in the 21st minute and they held that lead going into the break.
A spell of three goals in 11 second half minutes from Mac Eyre, Ahmed and Jack Derbyshire put the McMuffin Men in complete control at 6-2, but Lukas Voveris pulled one back for the Bucket Boys with 12 minutes remaining to give them a glimmer of hope. Charley Eyre extinguished that hope with three minutes left to get the McMuffin Men back to winning ways, back to the top of the table (Pathetico didn’t play this week), and eased them three points clear of a Stront Bakken team who are likely to be promotion rivals.
