Recap
SK Dons could claim second spot this week if they could pick up a win from either of the two games they were playing. The first of those was the toughest game they could have asked for at this level, against League Two winners The McMuffin Men.
It was the Dons who struck first after 7 minutes through Matthew Richardson’s goal, but Jack Derbyshire scored a 5 minute hat trick in the latter stages of the half to see the title winners into the break with a 3-1 lead.
Mark Bailey made it 4-1 two minutes into the second period, and when Charley Eyre and Chris Ogden added further goals the result was pretty much done and dusted. Kyle Norris pulled one back for SK, but Eyre’s second a minute later restored the McMuffin 5 goal lead. The Dons finished with a bit of a flourish as Richardson and Norris both grabbed their second of the game to make it a three goal game at the final whistle.
