Pathetico Madrid vs The McMuffin Men

Recap

While The McMuffin Men look destined for promotion this season, their one defeat of the season came in the reverse fixtures with this week’s opposition. Following that massive win, Pathetico slipped up last week in defeat to Stockport Eagles, so they needed to pick up something from one of their two games this week to stay in contention for promotion.

They got off to a good start as Adam Norton put them in front after two minutes, but McMuffin turned it around before there was 10 minutes on the clock as Juwon Hamzat and Mac Eyre put them 2-1 in front. Pathetico hit back again and two John Brookes goals turned things back around in their favour byt the time we reached the 20 minute mark, but two late goals from Charley Eyre meant that a topsy turvy first half ended with McMuffin Men leading by 4 goals to 3.

The second half was a little more one sided, and McMuffin added a steady stream of goals throughout. Mac Eyre and Jack Derbyshire added further goals in the opening 10 minutes of the half to open up a three goal lead. Charley Eyre added two more, Derbyshire two more and Mac Eyre another, before Brookes scored the final goal of the game as a late consolation. The McMuffin Men are now 5 points clear, and look very much set for the League Two title come the end of the season.
