Recap
This one had an interesting look about it, as AOTS who were unbeaten in their Ballers days went up against a Duno side who feel that with the introduction of a solid keeper that they have now cracked it and should be capable of mounting a serious promotion challenge.
The game exploded into life in the opening 10 minutes as 5 goals hit the back of the net in a 5 minute spell. Carl Buckley put AOTS in front, but Calvin Alexander levelled things up a minute later. Further goals from Adam Duty and Buckley gave AOTS a 3-1 lead, but that lead was reduced within a minute as ‘Rob’ pulled one back for Duno. Jack Cope drew Duno level again on 14 minutes, but Duty put AOTS back in front 7 minutes from the break. We went in all square at the break as Cope grabbed his second on 22 minutes, and the first half was as tight as we were expecting.
Duno started the second half the stronger, and went in front for the first time as Steven Nevins and Cope scored in the opening three minutes. Steven Whetham made it a three goal lead with 15 minutes remaining, and another goal each from Alexander and Cope took the result out of AOTS reach. Charlie Hutchinson and Duty did pull two back for AOTS to reduce the deficit to three with 7 minutes left, but that was as close as things got as Duno saw the game out to pick up an impressive win that sees them go second in the table.
