Recap
We were looking forward to this one, and even had the camera poised and ready to catch the action as two of the early favourites for promotion to the Premiership went up against each other. The camera stayed packed away when we realised that Dench were a player short, meaning this was likely to be a little bit of a let down as a competitive spectacle.
That’s pretty much how things worked out in the opening period, and after Kieran Doherty gave Kipsta the lead on 6 minutes, they eased into a comfortable 5-0 lead at the break thanks to a brace from Dillon Lowth and a goal each for Eduardo Castaldo and Warren Yeo.
Having found a 6th man to play out a second half that looked to be more of a case of damage limitation, it was Kipsta who struck first again as Matt Toft and Jack Horgan added two more in the opening 11 minutes of the period. Dench finally got off the mark three minutes later as Matty Aked scored, and a minute later he got another as Dench attempted to make the score line respectable. They also grabbed the final goal of the game as George Eaton scored two minutes from time, but respectability was all that Dench will take from a game as Kipsta eased to another win. Maybe we’ll get the camera out second time around…….
