Recap
SFC Club went into the first night of their first full Sunday league season off the back of an improved performance against Inter Your Sister last week, and faced a Deportivo Lack Of Talent team who were dropping into the 4th tier for the first time after a real struggle in a strong League One last season.
They will be keen to bounce back at the first attempt and Rob Parker put them in front in the second minute. For a while SFC Club didn’t read the script, and they turned it around to lead after 10 minutes as Luke Ashworth and Matty Aked scored, but that lead also didn’t last long as Josh Jackson made it Desmond. Parker put Deportivo back in front 9 minutes before the break, but again the Clubbers got themselves level through Ashworth’s second. Deportivo edged themselves in front at the break through Rhys Moult’s goal, and we looked set for a closely fought opening game of the season.
After a tight opening 10 minutes to the second period, three goals in 4 minutes put Deportivo well in control, Brad Peet, Parker and Moult with the goals. Aked got his second to give SFC a glimmer of hope, but that was extinguished by two more goals in the final 10 minutes from Peet and Parker to ease Deportivo to an opening night win.
