Recap
These two teams have become well known to each other in recent months, having been two of the first teams to sign up to the Wednesday, and having played out a couple of friendlies with each other in the run up to the start. Going into tonight’s game they had mirroring starts as Polish Army had a positive 100% record compared to Eagles negative one.
Following a tight opening 10 minutes it was Alex Paterson who opened the scoring for the Eagles on 11 minutes. This sparked the game into life and 4 more goals followed in the next 7 minutes. The Army turned it around with goals from Dominik and Slawek, and though Connor Harding drew the Eagles level again it was the Poles who were ahead at the break through Marcin’s finish.
There really was very little to choose between the teams in the second period, and for long spells it looked like Harding’s second of the game 7 minutes into the half might mean a share of the spoils for both teams. However, an own goal three minutes from time won the game for Polish Army to maintain their 100% start to the season. Three wins from three and a goal difference of just +4 shows that the Polish Army find a way to win those tight games!
