Recap
Having dropped two points last week against Expected Toulouse, Milmanchester just need to keep winning and hope for an Old Reddish slip up if they are to retain any hope of reclaiming their title. They took on struggling Strikeforce this week, who are safe in the knowledge that their loyalty will be rewarded with new team shirts from next week!
It was a tough opening half for Strikeforce, as Milmanchester knocked the ball around with style and purpose to open up a 6 goal half time lead. Simon Hackney opened the scoring in the second minute, before Martin Gordon made it 3-0 with less than 5 minutes on the clock. Gordon’s third on 8 minutes, and further goals from Chris Singleton and Billy Gallagher ended a painful first half for Strikeforce.
The second half started no better for them, as Gordon scored again in the opening minute. Hackney, Singleton and two more for Gallagher made it 11-0 with 11 minutes still to play, but Strikeforce finally woke up in the moments that remained. They scored 5 goals without reply in a 5 minute spell to give the scoreline a hint of respectability, three from Mike Garratt and one apiece for Joey Carruth and Mike Pinder. Shockingly there was no miraculous comeback, and Milmanchester get back to winning ways.
