Recap
Strikeforce were another one of the teams to pick up their one year anniversary shirts this week, and they would have been hoping they would bring them some luck as they took on a Phantom Brazilians team who were looking to bounce back from straight defeats to Old Reddish.
They certainly bounced back in the opening 15 minutes as two Jimmy Leeson goals to go alongside Robin Hulme and Andrew Shaw goals put them comfortably in control. ‘Un-named man’ pulled one back for Strikeforce 9 minutes before the break, but Leeson completed a first half hat trick to see Phantom into the break with a 5-1 lead.
They maintained a level of control throughout the second period, but all of their second half goals came in a 4 minute spell as Robin Hulme scored two, Matt Barton and Leeson one each to make it 9-1. Craig Oliver pulled one back for Strikeforce on the stroke of full time, but it was scant consolation as Phantom looked to cement their position as the best of the rest in the return to the top division.
